Da Hong Pao
Da Hong Pao
The Da Hong Pao is one of the most revered tea in the world. It is an almost fully oxidized tea with notes of cinnamon, caramel and fruit. It brews a smooth cup of tea that is full-bodied with little to no bitterness. We highly recommend you introduce the Da Hong Pao to be a part of your mornings or afternoons; multiple steeps will bring out the full flavors of this tea.
History: According to legend, an emperor had become severely ill, and was only able to recover after drinking tea from the special Wuyi tea bushes. The emperor was so grateful he gifted red robes to protect the plants. In 2006, the Chinese government officially declared the bushes as mother plants, protecting them from harvest. Most versions of this tea are made from offspring of the original bushes, making it possible for everyone to enjoy.
